Pre-race article called him “fade on both training and WHGR.” 2nd favorite, finished 12th. The fade call was a perfect hit.
Why WHGR Leader Calibol Lost
#12 Calibol (Yutaka Yoshida) had WHGR +490 (1st) with stable training 53.7→53.0, but as the 15th favorite finished 16th (dead last). At 10 years old, the age barrier proved insurmountable. A valuable data point showing that WHGR energy indicators cannot override physical age decline.
