Finish # Horse Fav WHGR Training Pre-Race Call
1st 9 Craspedia 5th +270★★ A (stable 51.8→52.5) ✅ 4-axis pattern overlap, top pick
2nd 16 Mozu Nanastar 14th +380★★ A (rush 51.3 fastest) ✅ Training A + WHGR upper
3rd 7 Win Monarch 9th +270★★ ✅ WHGR★★

The “Fade” Hit — Lord Four Ace

#11 Lord Four Ace (Yasunari Iwata) — 2nd favorite → 12th

WHGR: −580 (dead last by far) / Training: Woodchip declining

Pre-race article called him “fade on both training and WHGR.” 2nd favorite, finished 12th. The fade call was a perfect hit.

Why WHGR Leader Calibol Lost

#12 Calibol (Yutaka Yoshida) had WHGR +490 (1st) with stable training 53.7→53.0, but as the 15th favorite finished 16th (dead last). At 10 years old, the age barrier proved insurmountable. A valuable data point showing that WHGR energy indicators cannot override physical age decline.

Lessons

WHGR★★ + Training A double confirmation is the most reliable signal

WHGR deep-negative fades work ruthlessly even on popular horses (Lord Four Ace, 2nd fav→12th)

High WHGR on 10-year-old horses can’t beat age (Calibol +490→16th)
